My Journey of Developing Self-Confidence: Insights from My Interview with Bold Journey Magazine

I recently sat down for an interview with Bold Journey Magazine to discuss my personal journey developing self-confidence and self-esteem. When asked about overcoming early challenges, I shared experiencing a traumatic event at age 12 that “really shattered my identity.” I had to learn to love and care for myself instead of deriving my value from others.

When asked to identify the top three, I emphasized the importance of strong work ethic, understanding your craft on both a technical and historical level, and having a point of view on where your industry is headed. I noted the value of skills like lighting, editing and social media platform knowledge.

As a book recommendation, I cited The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene. I found it impactful for framing human behaviors and power dynamics, especially in business. Laws around reputation, not outshining your boss, and steering clear of reputation-damaging situations stuck with me.
