My Journey of Developing Self-Confidence: Insights from My Interview with Bold Journey Magazine
Posted on
I recently sat down for an interview with Bold Journey Magazine to discuss my personal journey developing self-confidence and self-esteem. When asked about overcoming early challenges, I shared experiencing a traumatic event at age 12 that “really shattered my identity.” I had to learn to love and care for myself instead of deriving my value from others.
As the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Daisi Jo Reviews, I leverage my expertise from competing in pageants and working as a model. Through insightful reviews and analysis on my site, I aim to provide readers with an understanding of the strategic business decisions behind their favorite beauty brands.
The interview explored important skills for succeeding today. When asked to identify the top three, I emphasized the importance of strong work ethic, understanding your craft on both a technical and historical level, and having a point of view on where your industry is headed. I noted the value of skills like lighting, editing and social media platform knowledge.
As a book recommendation, I cited The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene. I found it impactful for framing human behaviors and power dynamics, especially in business. Laws around reputation, not outshining your boss, and steering clear of reputation-damaging situations stuck with me.
My journey and advice offer wisdom on cultivating self-belief from challenges and focusing development in high-impact areas. Through sharing my perspective, I aim to give readers a behind-the-scenes look at my path to success.
